Hulagu Khan was the grandson of Genghis Khan, siblings with Arik Boke, Mongke Khan and Kublai Khan. In year 1255, Hulagu Khan was sent by Mongke Khan (1251-1258) to  conquer territory ruled by the Mogul in the Middle East.

After conquering territory of Lurs, in Iran and Hashasim, Hulagu Khan conquered Baghdad and overthrow the Caliph al Musta'sim Billah. Hulagu Khan then conquered Damascus (Syria) and try to conquer Egypt.
